Lugosi might be dead but the subculture that adordes him isn't. Goth is a music genre branching off of post punk attitudes. It viewed the dark, macabre and sad as being as worthy of the same glitz and glamour of the pop of the mainstream 80's neon and zest.

Goth musical style attracts the dramatic, both in personality and fashion. Sex and death are welcome to be worn via skulls,skin,and shine. Goth fashoin loves metal and was spending lots of time approaching the concept of what owuld now a days be called maximalism( in contrast to the empty minimalism movement inspired by artdeco clean lines and japanese sparsity as a neccasity due to house and aprtment sizes).
